The Mission Statement of this useful site states:

The goal of Patient Resource LLC is to empower people who are suffering with life-altering diseases by giving them the most comprehensive and up-to-date guides to treatment and facilities for their disease, free of charge. The information is written for ease of understanding and is offered in printed publications and online at PatientResource.com.

Patient Resource is run by oncologists and may be skewed towards orthodoxy; but it's vetted information that can be a great beginning of one's journey and it is worth perusing.

Vitiligo - A Personal Story

"I discovered the first spots three years ago. As the rest of me tanned in the early summer, they appeared on my fingers and wrists, patches of skin that remained stubbornly white. First just a few spots, then significantly more than a few. By August, it was as if God had Jackson Pollocked me."

This is the first paragraph of a personal narrative about Vitiligo that appeared in the September 4th, 2015 New York Times: Learning to Live with Vitiligo.

Scleroderma

July 2010: The NY Times Journal of Medicine had an important section on Patient Voices dealing with Scleroderma (systemic sclerosis).  There was also a Question and Answer section for those who want more information.  The Patient Voices were really moving.
